Luca’s, South Hill

The TA has agreed to put me up at a hotel for a couple of nights as I got my truck fixed at Smiley’s. This is ideal because I hurt my right knee as I was exiting the cab while the truck was under tow.

I stayed at the Fairfield. Luckily, there was a nice Italian restaurant across the street. Luca’s is named after the previous owner’s late son, Gianluca. While Virginia is in Phase 2, that means different things to different counties. While NOVA is still order out only, other parts of VA is 50% capacity.

Luca’s is is quite large with a veranda and a bar, so there’s plenty of seating available

I got the fettuccine alfredo and the philly cheese steak. The creamy, homemade alfredo sauce was spooned over hot, fresh pasta mixed with chicken and broccoli. It was heavy with garlic and parmesan sauce. Then I walked over to the bar enjoyed a glass of Peroni.

Luca’s showcases Italian cuisine, specializing in signature house made pastas, and a fabulous pizza. The menu is steeped in Italian tradition featuring a wide selection of vegetables and meats along with a gluten free menu.

The Love the Day War in memory of Gianluca, the son of the previous owner, who died in. a car crash in 2014.
Lots of sunshine and capacity even at 50%
