For the past 15 years, Beer, Bourbon & BBQ has been held annually in Baltimore County as well as several cities along the east coast. With a pandemic pause last year, we were thrilled for the event to return to the Timonium Fairgrounds during the Halloween weekend.
Several thousand attended and received a souvenir glass for unlimited tastings of beer and bourbon while listening to live music. There was also plenty of BBQ: pulled pork, ribs, beef, chicken and alligator – that’s right a whole smoked gator named Bob provided by Handsome Devil BBQ from the Hudson Valley.
Besides feasting and sampling, there were several seminars from brewmasters who taught patrons how beer and bourbon are made as well as award-winning chefs showing us how to make the best BBQ.
And there was also plenty of fun. Many people were adorned in Halloween attire with a contest at the main stage. After over 30 contestants were paraded in front of the crowd, three happy winners were selected.
“It was an honor to win best costume,” said Willie Ellis. “This was my first time here, and I will surely be back.”
Baltimore native, Deaven Avery who was dressed as Taco Tuesday absolutely loved the event. “Couldn’t ask for a better time. This was so much fun.”
“There’s no bad attitude here,” said Charlene Keys from Columbus, Ohio. “Everyone is having a fantastic time.”
“It’s a joy to bring everyone together after a year off,” said Greg Nivens president of Drink Eat Relax Events. “We’ere here to celebrate life. What’s more fun than Beer, Bourbon & BBQ.”
