I launched my paddle board in Shem Creek, Charleston. This is an easy spot to launch from. You just have to check the winds and the tides. Slack tides are the tides that are present in the two hours before and after the highest and lowest tides. During slack tides, the water is moving minimally. A bad scenario would be to paddle out only to face an ebb current moving away from the shore. A worst scenario would be an ebb current along with a headwind.
