Folkston is known for the Okefenokee Wildlife Preserve. Millions of tourists stop here annually. It’s also known for an iconic restaurant that’s popular with both locals and tourists alike.
Most people come for the buffet and they serve a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. They also serve a la carte and if you want steaks, they can fire up the grill on the front porch.
Lots of Southern favorites such as pork chops, fried chicken, fried fish, fat back, okra, yams, pinto beans, okra, etc. And there’s plenty of fresh salad to balance things out. The restaurant is a familiar landmark on 301 and has been serving hungry diners since 1953.
After a big meal here, it’s time to drive 12 miles to the Okefenokee Swamp to take a long hike on the trail and boardwalk.
