i stopped at Silver’s Travel Plaza where there was plenty of parking, but little choices for food. I walked a mile to the nearest restaurant to get some dinner.
“Welcome to Crazy ‘Bout Crawfish,” said Lana.
Crazy Bout Crawfish“Great to be back here, what’s the special today?”
“It’s Thursday, so its the seafood platter.”
“Perfect!” I replied.
My hostess, Edona then came over and showed me what’s in the seafood platter.
“Catfish strips, jalapeno cornbread, hush puppies, corn maque choux, shrimp etouffee over a fried eggplant, jalapeno cheese cornbread and a crawfish boulette.”
“Crawfish boulette, what’s that?”
“Some people call them crawfish cakes. It’s fatty crawfish tails minced up with Creole seasoning and cornbread and deep fried until golden brown,” Edona replied.
“Yes, boulette means rolled in a ball in French,” added Lana.
Dinner was amazing. After this I was ready to roll over to the New Orleans Original Daiquiris for some rainbow daiquiris.
