A Welcome Respite Amidst Travel Woes
Travel can be an unpredictable adventure, and sometimes even the most well-planned trips can encounter unexpected delays and challenges. Such was the case when my Frontier flight from Orlando to San Juan was delayed by two hours, causing me to arrive at the bustling San Juan airport in the wee hours of the morning. Thankfully, I discovered Lounge Club SJU, a haven of tranquility located near the C terminal, offering respite, good food, and excellent service.
Arriving at Lounge Club SJU: Exhausted from the overnight delay and a lack of sleep, I decided to stay within the secure area of the airport and explore the amenities available. At 6 am, I checked into Lounge Club SJU, greeted by a serene ambiance and friendly staff. Despite the early hour, the lounge was already quite busy, which made finding a place to sit a bit challenging. Nevertheless, the positive reviews I had heard about the lounge kept my hopes high.
A Welcoming Atmosphere: Stepping into Lounge Club SJU, I was immediately struck by its cleanliness and pleasant aesthetic. The sleek and modern design, coupled with comfortable seating arrangements, created a welcoming atmosphere. Despite the crowd, the staff efficiently managed the flow of guests, ensuring everyone felt attended to and comfortable.
Food and Drink Options: One of the highlights of Lounge Club SJU was undoubtedly the delectable food options available. The breakfast spread included a variety of freshly prepared dishes, ranging from pastries and fruit to warm breakfast sandwiches. The quality and variety of the food impressed me, and it provided a satisfying start to my day.
The drink options were equally impressive, with an extensive selection to suit all tastes. The staff members, including the delightful Mariangely Lopez who served me, were knowledgeable and accommodating. Mariangely prepared a delicious cocktail called the Old San Juan, which combined orange juice and rum—a perfect refreshment after a long night of travel.
Service and Staff: The service at Lounge Club SJU was commendable, considering the bustling environment. The staff was attentive, ensuring that guests’ needs were promptly met. Mariangely Lopez stood out with her friendly demeanor and expertise in mixology. Her warm hospitality enhanced the overall experience, making me feel welcome and cared for during my visit.
Deciding What’s Next: As I sat in the lounge, sipping my refreshing cocktail, I pondered my next move. With the blistering heat and high heat index outside, exploring the wonders of San Juan seemed tempting. The city boasts rich history, vibrant culture, and beautiful beaches. On the other hand, heading back home to BWI after a tiring journey was also a compelling option.
Lounge Club SJU provided a much-needed sanctuary during an otherwise challenging travel experience. The combination of excellent food, a wide selection of drinks, efficient service, and a welcoming ambiance left a lasting impression on me. Whether you’re arriving early or experiencing flight delays like myself, Lounge Club SJU is a haven worth considering.
As I weighed my options, one thing was certain: regardless of my decision, Lounge Club SJU would remain in my memory as a haven of comfort and relaxation amidst the chaos of travel. Michael, who also happened to be from D.C. , spent 10 days here, highly recommend I rent a car and tour the sites. He spent a lot of time at Condado beach and he even visited Vieques Island and went kayaking. He explored one of nature’s most impressive phenomenons! Kayaking the mangrove channels to Laguna Grande. Bioluminescent water is like a mosaic of light resembling fireflies.
